California Certified Legal Secretary Course

SCCoLPA also offers a 23-week study course for those legal professionals wanting to earn their California Certified Legal Secretary (CCLS) certification. This state-specific certification is achieved by passing a 7-hour comprehensive examination conducted by LSI. Candidates are tested in California legal procedures, legal terminology, performance skills, reasoning and ethics, law office administration, communications, and bookkeeping. A minimum of two years experience is required. Continuing legal education requirements must be met for re-certification.

Bay Area Legal Secretaries Forum

Members are made up of legal secretaries, paralegals, attorneys, and court staff throughout the Bay Area. The Forum meets approximately every six to eight weeks to plan educational programs. For more information, go to www.BALSF.org
